Description:

A little over 4 inches tall. I guess you would call them tab or ear handles. Semi matte green, with a mottled effect. This may have been light clay with red slip with green glaze. The darker side is almost a copper metalic color, possibly from uneven firing (wood?). There is some "orange peel effect" to the glaze (frog skin or salt treatment)
The handles "whisper" NC pottery to me, but I don't know.
No chips cracks or crazing.
After posting to discussion board (thanks Tom, Mollie and Rick), the general concensus is:
Most likly North Carolina
Probably Southern North Calolina
Most likely Cole Pottery
probably older than expected.
Now can I attibute it to a certain Cole artist?
OK - Wrenn (Lorenzo) Cole 1930's working for the J.B COle Pottery or maybe the Carolina Pottery (1929-1931)
If you disagree please, please contact me. I really want to have it right.
