This is just such an awesome retro piece! It is a beautiful hand-painted carafe with lid in Vernonware's Homespun pattern.
The base colour is a creamy off-white and the piece is painted with a half-inch rust line about 1/3 of the way from the top, and then criss-crossed lines of yellow, rust and green on a background of light overlay of green over the off-white. The bottom inch and a half of the piece is a beautiful sunny yellow. The lid is off-white with a rust top. The handle of the carafe appears to be bakelite with a copper or copper-plated ring around the neck of the carafe.
The piece measures 6 1/2" tall and 5 1/2" at the widest diameter ~ the overall width is about 7 1/2".
The carafe is marked;
This pattern was produced from 1948 to 1958.
The carafe is in excellent condition with no chips, cracks or crazing ~ the bakelite handle is crackfree and the ring around the neck is a bit tarnish but in good condition.
