Description:

Early Blue and White enamel jug. 8 inches tall. bird (peacock?) and pomegranate decorated. The clay body is pink with a white glaze applied and cobalt enamel used to decorate. There is also a clear (probably lead) overglaze (kwaart?). The bottom does not have the over glaze and is just white. There is some crazing to the overglaze. The overglaze also has a blue, iridescent sheen. The blue decoration also stands above the white ground slightly. Number impressed on the bottom - 395/15 The handle is decorated with a squiggly line and dots.

This jug has a decidedly Spanish Fajalauza look, but as the above link suggests, perhaps it is eastern euopean, early-mid 19th cen.
Please help me with this one if you can. Thank you.
