Description: Tobacco jar. Green and ivory. Wine motif. Marked on bottom with 10853 or maybe 10855 on the bottom. There is still a small piece of natural sponge left in the lid. This may have had a liner at one time as it is unglazed inside and unstained. There is a tight 1 inch hair line running from the edge to just behind the larger man's right eye. Approx. 6 inched wide and 7 inches tall.

This humidor is likely from the late 1800's and probably from Germany.

I have been contacted by someone with the same jar, also looking for some information. He can place it in his family back at least 100 yrs.
