This somewhat crude item caught my eye just after reading the following "Following the 1900 Exposition Universelle in Paris, Tiffany began his pottery experimentation in ernest. His early pieces in the medium reflected a heavy and uninspired hand...."(probably by Professor Martin Eidleberg) There are three of the applied sphinx months around the bowl. Each has carved antennae. I believe the underlying clay is light gray. I have never seen any reference to Louis Comfort Tiffany using this mark. If any of you ever visit the Florida museum that has the Tiffiny pottery display, please ask about the early clunky works.
